Mandalika MotoGP 2023 Practice Results

AntaraNews.net – The Aprilia team appeared dominant in the 2023 Mandalika MotoGP practice session. Aleix Espargaro was the fastest, followed by Maverick Vinales in second.

Taking place at the Mandalika Circuit, Saturday (13/10), Fabio Di Giannantonio was the fastest in the first five minutes with a time of 1 minute 32.186 seconds. However, Aleix Espargaro immediately took over who posted a time of 1 minute 31.783 seconds.

Aleix then sharpened his time to 1 minute 31.347 seconds. During the first 45 minutes, no one was able to overtake the score. His teammate, Maverick Vinales trailed with a time of 1 minute 31.351 seconds.

With 15 minutes remaining, Aleix again improved his time record to 1 minute 31.088 seconds, before falling at Turn 10 with approximately 13 minutes remaining.

Marco Bezzecchi pushed his way to the top position with 1 minute 30.644 seconds with around 10 minutes remaining. Previously, Vinales also set a time of 1 minute 30.853 seconds, making Aleix drop two levels to third place.

The riders tried to push their motorbikes faster in the remaining five minutes. As a result, a number of crashes occurred.

Enea Bastianini fell with five minutes remaining. He was still 1.5 seconds away from Bezzecchi when his motorbike landed in the gravel. Jack Miller also fell at Turn 1 with less than three minutes remaining.

Aleix, who returned to the track after the crash, successfully improved his time to 1 minute 30.474 seconds, bringing him back up to the top and remained there until the practice session was over.

Vinales and Bezzecchi occupy the top three, followed by Brad Binder, Jorge Martin, Marc Marquez, Miguel Oliveira, Diggia, Miller and Fabio Quartararo in the top 10. They all immediately qualified for Q2 in the qualifying session next Saturday.

MotoGP champion Francesco Bagnaia failed to break into the top 10 after going wide in the final attempt. He must take part in the Q1 session first tomorrow in an effort to chase the Mandalika MotoGP pole position.
